Welcome, I look forward to connecting with you.

Hi, I’m Michael, I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) and psychotherapist based in Toronto.

I believe that therapy can be the catalyst to healthy and positive change in your personal and family life. I’m here to support you in that process. Together, we can identify your goals and work at your own pace. My approach is built on growth, reconciliation, self-understanding and healing. Education & Work Experience

I received my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Calgary with a clinical specialization, and have worked diligently in the field of mental health ever since. Most notably, I have worked at The Geneva Centre for Autism, Surrey Place, Flex Psychology, The Etobicoke Children’s Centre, and Lumenus Community Services. Over these years, I have gained experience and expertise in clinical individual and group therapy, as well as service coordination, helping individuals and families gain access to the services that assist in sustaining support within their own communities.

Therapeutic Approach

At its core, my practice is steeped in compassion, understanding, connection, and hope. I collaborate with clients to build a vision of their future, uncovering and developing the pathways needed to build these visions into reality. The principles of attachment, trauma, neurobiology, and evidence-based interventions help me to understand my clients outside of the problem and successfully partner with them to achieve positive treatment outcomes.

Broadly speaking, my therapeutic approach integrates the Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) model with Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) principles and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) skill-building. Additionally, I draw on a wide range of techniques from multiple other evidence-based models of therapy in which I have training. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness. I find that rooting in a few select models while implementing complementary interventions allows me to best serve each client and family in response to their unique needs, goals, and character.
